DON'T USE Metro Vanline

My husband and I used Metro vanline to move from Virginia to Connecticut. Pickup and everything were ok, but things started to go bad later. They started to charge us extra after initial payment. They told us that since it was long distance moving, we need to pay this and that. When we arrived Connecticut, we had to sleep on the wooden floor for a week waiting our boxes and mattress to come. We were angry about this, but they notified us before that it would take three to seven days to arrive. On the 7th day of sleeping on the floor, they called us early in the morning that they would arrive at 9am, so I waited. They did not come. They called my husband at work that they would arrive around 12:30pm. So I waited and they never showed up. They called my husband again around 4:00pm and they arrived our house around 4:30pm. The mover said that I had to pay extra AGAIN because the truck was too big to come near the doorway and I had to pay the distance between truck to our doorway. Unless I paid them $160, they would not move our boxes. It was ridiculous. We knew that we would not need a big truck, therefore we specifically told them we did not need a big truck and told what size we wanted. After I paid them forcefully, they started moving boxes and the movers were very rude, unkind, and clumsy. I saw movers dropping our plastic drawers, but it did not have any crack so I did not complain. After they were gone, my husband and I started to unpack everything and put things in the furniture. We found out that we were missing two boxes full of my makeup and fall/winter clothes. Also, our drying rack and TV stand (big crack in the back) were damaged. I called the customer service (of course she was not helpful nor kind. What is wrong with people work at this company?) and she said there was only way I could contact the claim department was to send a letter with list of missing items and damages (with pictures). I sent a letter to them and got a reply after a month. I was so pissed off by their reply. On the letter, I had to PAY $250 to Metro vanline to investigate my claim, which was nonsense and ridiculous!!!!! It was their fault not to deliver them to us and the movers should had known which boxes to move. If other people had good experience with this company, you are lucky and it is really good for you. However, people who are considering to use this company, please read other people's reviews and think twice.
