These people made my life a living hell

I mainly posted this review to help bump the average rating down because I hired the company based on the high ratings I saw on this site. Certainly it's partially my fault, and not a mistake I'll make again, but I didn't think that human beings acted this way ... They seem so competent and like a perfectly respectable company at first XXXI also had Valerie as my initial contact, and she seemed to really know what she was talking about. I asked her lots of questions and she reassured me that yes, if I wasn't completely 100% accurate on my inventory it wouldn't seriously affect the price (yeah RIGHT try it will double the cost if you have like one extra lamp, as others have noted), and she repeatedly emphasized that this was a binding quote. That's pretty unambiguous language and she took her time to explain that the price would not change. I had 2 extra boxes and an extra lamp, and then of course the cost of their magical packaging, and the cost shot up to well over $2000. And of course they tell you this AFTER they've packed everything up, while you're standing there in the empty apartment, after you've signed everything. And then when I call back to just discuss it like a reasonable person, they throw back in my face "well it was in the contract you signed", the literally 50 page contract that they rush you through as they're running around packing up everything..ugh they're just such jerks I can't even keep going. Anyway the money wasn't even the worst part of it for me. What was important for me was the delivery date, and I was crystal clear that I needed a specific delivery date because I was going to be leaving the country soon afterwards. I called back at least a half dozen times to reconfirm, and talked to four or five different people, all of whom confirmed with me that the date was all set. Just like the pick up date, which was a specific date that I had set up ahead of time, I was under the impression that the delivery date would be on this specific date. Then literally two days TWO DAYS before the delivery, I called just once more because I'm paranoid, and I get a different person on the phone who all of a sudden starts talking about how they can't guarantee delivery dates and that it actually is going to be three or four days afterwards. I was completely stunned XXXno one had said a word about this to me until then. It would have been totally understandable, I get that it's hard to coordinate, but NO ONE HAD TOLD ME UNTIL TWO DAYS BEFORE IT WAS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN. So I was completely screwed, I had to move to my new apartment with no furniture, change my international flight at the cost of over $800 (which I'm adding in my head to my moving costs...), and I've been sleeping on the floor for the past three nights waiting for these total jerks to show up with my stuff. Seriously they're going to burn in hell I hate them so much. If they happen to read this, I don't even want to swear at you, I just want to say, it was really cruel what you did and you really made my life so awful the last few days and I wish you would think about what you're doing to people. Moving sucks enough already without pulling crap like this, just do your job and be decent human beings. You're going to go out of business anyway if you keep going like this anyway because I'm definitely telling everyone I know to stay the hell away from you. So if anyone is still considering hiring this company please don't do it, they'll find some way to squeeze money out of you or be late delivering your stuff or god knows what else. They're bad people, don't trust them with all of your stuff. Hope they show up sometime with mine ...
