My experience with Mid Moving & Storage started out great. I spoke with Leah Z. who helped me with my quote and how to put down the deposit. It was all down hill from there. I sent in a $200 check payment on top of my deposit and I asked continually (multiple e-mails and phone calls) about why it was not credited to my account and they said that dispatch had it. I made my move from Chicago to New Orleans for a new job and my company was willing to pay the remaining balance of my move in order to have a smooth transition. Mid-Moving would not produce a government W-9 tax form needed for my company to submit the payment. They would not even produce an invoice. When calling or e-mailing about the situation, I was left with no response. Two days before my move, I called to change my inventory because I added somethings but subtracted some other things. I was specifically told that if I change my inventory before the move then I would not be charged. Jolene sent me an e-mail saying my account was locked but not to worry that they would make the adjustment on the day of the move. Then the day of my move came. The nightmare just got worse. They used TEN rolls of tape at $4 a roll. On what? Well, I found out when when items arrived and I could barely open anything. The movers would not accept my inventory change and insisted on charging me for the new items. My binding quote (as it says on my quote) was around $1600. They charged $200ish on supplies and then around $300ish for the additional items. My BINDING quote was then around $2200. The movers then insisted that I put 70% down on my initial total instead of my new balance after the deposit and payment I made. I did not feel that was right. I gave them a check, moved to New Orleans and then put a stop on the check. Since it was payment related, I got a call almost immediately from the dispatch supervisor. Not only was he insulting to my intelligence but he insisted that I e-mail him a check and he would not adjust any of the irrational fees that were attached to my move. I made the complete payment just so I made sure I got my belongings and nothing happened to them. Sixteen days later I received my things. My bed frame was broken, a rubbermaid bin was completely bashed up, and boxes beat up. Luckily, no glass was broken and besides my bed frame, everything will survive. The movers in NOLA were nice and efficient though that did not make up for the rest of my experience. The company lacks in communication, professionalism and integrity. I would not ever use them again for my future moves nor will I recommend them to anyone I know.
