My pick up time was 12pm -2pm. By 3:30 I had still not heard from the movers. When I called they connected me to the driver who was a state away and told me he was driving around looking for a gps. He asked me for directions to my house from Brooklyn NY (I live in CT). I told him to call his dispatcher, but he didn't want to do that. At 5:30 I still the drivers still hadn't shown up so I called again, the truck was still in NY. They finally showed up at 7pm, the only problem was the top of the truck was ripped open like a sardine can. They had hit something on the way to my house and had taken the top of the truck off. They had not let their company know that they had an accident or were running late. The movers were still trying to load my things into the truck and told me they were going to be putting everything in a warehouse and getting another truck. I found out later that the warehouse was 2 hours away in Boston, MA and they did not schedule to pick up another truck. We were expecting thunderstorms that night and I told them that I did not want my things were going into a truck with no roof they were going to get wet - they needed to send another truck. Reluctantly the driver called the company and I was told that I either had to let my stuff go on this truck or I had to way over a week for them to send another one (the date they gave me was the date my things needed to be delivered by). After asking to speak with their manager I got them to agree to send another truck in two days and was told that if I wanted to discuss taking some money off the bill I needed to call the scheduling office (I had tickets to a broadway show that I had to miss in order to be there for the movers). I called the next day to speak with the scheduling office and was told by a manager that they would only discuss taking something off the bill after they picked up my things, because if they were on time I would not get any money back. I had done a lot of researching prior to booking the move and a common complaint I have scene is movers taking your things and basically holding them ransom for more money, so I told them that I would like to discuss taking money off my bill for the show tickets prior to the pick up. The man told me no and that he was taking me off the pick up schedule - "if I did not like the way they did business then go somewhere else" and then he hung up on me. I had to find another company last minute and pay more than double what I originally was going to pay, but it was worth it not to have to deal with this company ever again. I would never recommend using this company they are very unprofessional. I feel bad for the customers furniture that was already on this truck. It was thrown around in the back of the truck when I saw it and probably was soaking wet and damaged by the time they received it.
