I booked my move with American Eagle Movers based on their good ratings and the helpfulness of the salesman, Marc. I was on a very short time line...needed to be in Nashville to move in on July 6th and start a new job on the 9th. Marc, of course promised this was completely doable. My stuff would get picked up on either Sun, Mon or Tues, July 1,2 or 3 and I would receive a call from my driver 48 hours in advance so I'd be ready for them. On Friday the 29th I hadn't heard anything, so I emailed Marc and he said it would probably be Mon or Tues. On Monday morning, when I still hadn't heard from the driver, I tried calling Marc or anyone in the office. I was told by someone that the call was forward to that they were moving offices and the phones weren't connected yet. Marc had told me that they were splitting off from American Eagle Movers because of owner conflicts and the new company, Move IT, would be handling my move with the same employees and drivers they always had. I spent all of Monday and Tuesday calling any number I could find for both moving companies and emailing Marc with no response what so ever. Finally, on Wed, the Fourth of July, I started sending out requests to other moving companies for help. I figured I could sleep on the floor at my new place in Nashville so I could be there to start work on-time and my daughter could be at the old house for the new movers to come pick up. Finally, on the 4th, at 1 pm I get a call from the driver saying he's on his way and he's in Ohio, about 7 hours out. I was so stressed out by that point that I decided to let him come ahead cause I was leaving by car the next morning. He arrived around 8:30 pm by himself - no help! So he loaded the truck til about 2:30 am and decided he would go to a motel for a few hours sleep and finish loading the next morning. I agreed cause we were all exhausted and my daughter would be there the next morning for him. I got to Nashville on Friday morning, signed the lease, moved in the stuff from my car and started trying to contact the driver to see what his e.t.a. was. He finally got back to me and said he'd be here around 5pm. I told him the apts had a policy about quiet time after 10pm, and I was on the second floor, so he did call ahead to get some help. He got here and his helper showed up and even though it was over 100 degrees outside, they managed to get done on time. However, it the meantime the driver had told me I was going to have to pay another $500 for the additional boxes that weren't in my original estimate, so I was on the phone with Marc telling him that was ridiculous after all they had put me through. He said he would talk to the owner and came back with a $100 reduction. I was still very unhappy and asked to speak to the owner my self but what a surprise, he was on another line. Marc said he would try again for me and call me back...after a couple of hours, I called him back and he said he couldn't do any better for me and this time when I asked to speak to owner he was gone for the day. I was totally disgusted with them except for the driver himself. Even though he failed to contact me when he should, he was a very hard worker and nice, polite, young man. Overall a very stressful experience on top of a stressful time already. Would never use or recommend them again.
