Worst Movers Ever - Avoid at all costs

Submitted this review about Move On & Relocation

I brought a house in Dallas, TX and so started looking online to find a Mover for my Car and Household things. I submitted a request thru one of the moving sites and got several quotes (atleast 20). After studying all of them, I finally decided to go with www.moveonandrelocation.com. They claimed that they have a warehouse in Dallas (they don't) and the rates they offered although not the least, were quite reasonable. Little did I know that as usual the rates were just a show and when the actual movers showed up, they started yelling that the stuff was not packed etc. We had packed all the stuff, but not the Sofa and dining table. These crooks then increased my quote from an initial amount of 1600$ to over 2000$. These guys offer you 2 free Wardrobe boxes, but then charge for the Weight/Volume which is quite a lot. We had a very small 2 room apartment and we did not have any bedroom furniture nor any other furniture except a sofa and dining table and compared to the same, we ended up spending 2000$ which is a lot. The movers agent Roni promised that they have a Warehouse in Dallas and the goods will be stored there and will be delivered immieidiately after I ask them to deliver. In reality they had stored it everything in their local ware house in Florida and it took them over a week to deliver the same after I asked them to deliver. As for DOT rules, the movers were supposed to give a quote with full insurance and basic insurance. Roni refused to give a quote with full insurance and instead asked me to go to some 3rd party movinginsurance.com for full insurance and also said on top that there was no need for full insurance and in all their moves so far there was never a problem (which was a total lie). I finally received all my goods very very late and the delivery guys were the rudest of all. I have never seen anybody so rude. In the end, they dumped all the packing stuff on my lawn and left. It was agreed in the beginning that I could pay by Credit Card for the remaining amount, but these guys insisted on paying cash and I understood the reason later which was these guys had stolen 1 big 5 Cu.ft box and also most probably broken 1 of my lamp (worth atleast 80$). After the delivery I complained abt the box and they kept on asking me to call later. Finally after 1 month, they agreed that the box was lost (actually it was stolen, since it had my DVD player and lot of other Valuables). They asked me to submit a claim and said that they will reimburse me. After several other emails I find that they want to reimburse me 25$ for a box that had more then 500$ worth of stuff. These guys had misplaced a lamp for which they had charged me 40$ for packing and now they were giving me 2$ for this lamp. I denied this compensation and now on the way to file my complaint to BBB. I would much rather file a complaint at these sites then agree to their puny reimbursement. These guys acted illegally as per DOT rules, when they refused to give me a quote with full insurance. After filing with BBB, I will be aslo lodging a case with DOT.
