Do not use this moving company XXXYou will regret it. I moved on 2/25/2011 from a one bedroom apartment to another one bedroom apartment four blocks away in Fells Point, Baltimore, City, MD. I called Movers-Baltimore-MD, also known as Hercules Services LLC, 443-746-3377, 888-668-7616, 888-MOV-R-MAN, 126 N. Hilton Street, Baltimore, MD and 18345 Lost Knife Circle - 204, Montgomery Village, MD 20886, and was given an over the phone quote from Andre of $70/hour which would equal $210-$350 which was for a minimum of 3 hours and a maximum of 5 hours for 2 men and a truck. Peter came a week early to inspect what was being moved and to deliver some complimentary book boxes. The day of the move, he showed up and said he had an extra man so if I wanted, the rate would be $80/hour for a minimum of $240 and max of $400. I agreed thinking it would be quicker. He then started to move my stuff into the truck with his two Hispanic workers. After loading the truck, they moved a few things into my new apartment. Then I was given a bill for $593. I told him the bill should be a max of $400 and he said I had to call the boss, Andre. I did so and Andre lied to me and said that he explained everything to me over the phone that I would be charged an hour of travel time plus for all packing supplies like bubble wrap and tape. Nothing was explained to me except the minimum and maximum price. I refused to pay and they closed up their truck as if they were going to drive off with all of my stuff. I frantically started to cry because I knew I had been scammed and I didn't know what to do. Andre hung up on me. I called him back and said that the most I could afford was $500. He hung up on me again and Peter came in and said they would do it for $500. They proceeded to move the rest of my stuff onto the sidewalk. He tried to make me sign something saying that all my items were delivered and received in good condition and the truck was found to be empty. I refused to sign it until they moved all of my belongings into my apartment, assuming they were going to drive off and leave all my stuff on the side of the street. Peter said that because I didn't pay the full amount, they were not going to reassemble my platform bed and he took his hammer so I couldn't put my exterior door back on. I didn't have a hammer with me at the new apartment and am a female so I couldn't put it on by myself even if i had one. One of my sofas wouldn't fit so they left it on the side of the street even though when I spoke to Andre he said it was okay if I needed something moved to my friend's house a few blocks away. After everything except the sofa was moved into the apartment he forced me to sign the paper. I did so even though I was extremely dissatisfied with the move and was forced to pay $100 extra. It was really the money. It was the principle. If they had just been honest in the beginning about the charge for packing supplies and travel time, there wouldn't have been a problem at all. I realize I should have gotten a written estimate but I trusted Andre when I shouldn't have. This was in part because I read good reviews about the company. I do not even know if they paid the Hispanic workers. I gave them tips of $30 each and he walked in on it and said that if I had paid the full amount, I wouldn't have had to tip them. That led me to believe that he was not going to pay them the full amount. I had to put my bed together by myself at 4am and had to call my friend to come help me put the door back on and move my sofa to my other friend's house. Do yourself a favor and do not go with this moving company. They cannot be trusted. Moving is already so stressful and they made it 100% worse. Good luck!
