My furniture was GUARANTEED to be delivered on March 21, 2010. Moving-1 did not deliver on guaranteed date, nor did they call. After numerous calls to Moving-1 I was told that in actuality they had 21 days to deliver my furniture.... After hiring an attorney, some of my furniture was delivered on April 8. First, when the furniture was picked-up, I was charged for 542 cubic square feet. Even though my estimate, with dimensions for everything was 442 cubic square feet XXXwhich was an additional $400+. I was charged for the movers to go up 1/2 a flight of stairs, $120, even though the contract said 1 flight of stairs was free. When I asked about this when I finally got hold of Yumi, alleged dispatcher, he told me that was the driver's tip!!!! Ha! Ha! Ha! After numerous calls from my attorney, literally 70+, and many, many lies later, part of my furniture was delivered on April 8. When my husband met the truck, it was 1/2 the size of the original truck that picked up my furniture and it was only 1/2 full. My husband measured the truck and contents and it was 325 cubic square feet, a difference of 217 cubic square feet that I paid for!!! My husband asked where the rest of our things were and was told that this was it!! The boxes that were delivered had been opened and gone through, things were missing. The boxes with dishes were just shattered, just pieces of glass. Our couch, love seat and chaise were cut and ripped. The coffee and end tables were in pieces. Our chest of drawers was smashed. They only delivered part of our bed frame. They delivered my mattress but not my box springs. When my husband questioned them about the condition of our belongings and was calling our attorney XXXthey ran!!!! Literally RAN XXXjumped in the truck and left XXXdid not close the back of the truck. With other things still in the truck!!! Blankets and packing materials flew out of the back of the truck. They left moving blankets at our apartment. So, we are not sure who's things were still in the truck. Our attorney called numerous times and finally got Yumi and wanted to know when the rest of our belongings would be delivered XXXhe was told that was all our things, they had nothing else...... WHAT A JOKE.... This move has been a nightmare. I have filed complaints with the ICC, the GA AG, the FL AG, Better Business Bureau, Immigration, FBI, etc. I went to Relocation.com to get quotes for my move XXXmoving companies need to be vetted!!!!!!
