Amazingly Terrible

It's so hard to describe the absolutely terrible experience I had with this shitty company. Let's begin with one simple fact: Moving companies like Nationwide are supposed to make your move less stressful... can we agree on that intention? Let me describe to you the absolute absurdity that was my experience with this scam job of a company, and try to absorb the amount of stress that they caused throughout the already stressful moving process. My initial contact with them was fine. I got on the phone with Pam Ling a couple weeks in advance of my move and she gave me the price, provided the moving documents for me to sign (7 signatures required), and we were off. I paid my $1000+ deposit, and things started swimmingly. Jump ahead to 2 days before the "pickup window". I get a call from some incredibly disrespectful hoodrat in dispatch. She asks me if I can move my pickup window to the 29th/30th. I live in an apartment, lady - I need at least 1 day to clean it out or I lose my deposit. No, my pickup window needs to remain the 27th/28th. The next day, 10/26.. Some assclown calls me once again asking if I can move my pickup window to the 29th/30th. I hint at being able to consider the 29th because I really don't want to have to deal with another company in trying to move 2000 miles. I have to be out of my apartment on the 30th. I tell him that I'm going to be pissed if I have to move out on the 29th instead of my moving window according to the signed contract and I will begin looking for alternatives to Nationwide scamjobs, inc. He tells me he'll call me back in 10 minutes to let me know what he finds out. He didn't call me back. That's strike 2 in the "screw you lottery" that they seem to be playing. The first day of my moving window, 10/27 arrives. I call my moving consultant who I've not heard from since I signed 7 times. She tells me that she doesn't have a status update on my move and that she'll look into it and call me back in 15 minutes. 2 hours later, 4 calls to her, 1 voicemail, and 1 email later, I decide to call their customer service department. I feel sorry for the person I'm about to scream at, but these people bring it upon themselves. She tells me that no moving truck has been assigned to my move. I tell her that this is the first day of my 2-day moving window. She's been through this before, and calms the situation but offers no comfort for myself. Soon after, I get a call from the assclown dispatcher of 10/26. He tells me that 10/29 is no longer an option and that the only way I'm getting a truck before 11/1 (2 days after I'm required to leave my apartment) is if someone cancels. He also lets me know that if I call on the 29th - a day before I get kicked out of my current apartment - that I can call them and get my $1000+ deposit back. Great, so now I have to wait until you don't show up and then find another way to move my shit with NEGATIVE ONE days notice. Fast forward to a couple hours after assclown dispatcher. I call U-Haul and they bend over backwards to get me a truck and a trailer to tow my car for $1000 less than nationwide. Here we sit, ready to go pick up a moving truck after nationwide completely abandoned us. I now have complete control of my move - I can be packed when I want, I can load the truck when I want, and I'm going to get my stuff in my new apartment when I show up to my new apartment instead of waiting a week with Nationwide Screwing Company. Anyone reading this, I implore you to skip nationwide relocation services. They are a dishonest pile of BS that has no business existing. There are hundreds and hundreds of reviews out there and you should listen to every word of them because they're ALL true, despite what hoodrat #1 or jersey shore #2 dispatcher tells you. Do not go through the stress of dealing with this scambag outfit because all you'll be doing is making your move miserable.
