This was my first time using a moving company and after almost 2 weeks of extensive research and checking out reviews, I chose Nationwide Van Lines. They weren't the cheapest option but after many conversations with my point of contact Racheal, I felt most comfortable going with them. I was not pressured into selecting Nationwide Van Lines like some other companies tried with me. I didn't not receive spam emails/phone calls either. In fact, I was given great advice at what to look for with the quotes on top of what I had already researched. I had to calculate some numbers and tried to have as accurate inventory count of my belongings as possible to get a detailed quote. This will save you a great deal of agony in the long run. Also, my pick up location was a high rise and was a long walk from elevator to door, which as an extra charge but I had inquired about that prior to final quote. Most places give you about 75 feet free so keep that in mind when you look for quotes. The great thing with them was they went by item count instead of weight, which seriously reduces the chance of a major quote change upon pickup. Way too many stories of being scammed at weighing stations. Nick was the driver picking up my items. He and his crew were extremely friendly, lightning fast and took great care of my items. They used a lot of packing tape to secure some less then secure items and didn't charge a penny for all the rolls (some companies will hit you up with that surcharge so be forewarned). They were on time for delivery to FL but I was not there yet, I had gotten sick on the travel down, so had to pay extra for storage for a later delivery so that was my fault. They even called to see how I was feeling, which was a nice touch. The new driver Daniel was the one unloading my items and he was also fantastic and very fast. Unfortunately because I was hit the with the storage fee, I didn't not have extra cash to toss Daniel and his crew member a cash tip as I did with Nick and crew. They do back breaking work and deserve a little extra if you can afford it. All in all, I feel I made the right choice. I highly recommend you do your research with multiple companies. They may not be the right choice for everyone but sure as heck was great for me. Just bear in mind, it is a cut throat business and profit margin is slim. So if you shop for the absolute lowest price, you may be in for a shocker when the final bill arrives. So if you do your research and be reasonably organized, it may spare you some grief.
