I was quoted 2800 for moving, 1200 for packing and 350 for insurance, with a 100% binding agreement through North American Van Lines, University moving systems out of Detroit MI. The movers were on time.
Problems:
1. I was put under a lot of pressure to maintain THEIR timetable. It felt like I was working for them and not the other way round. They were not interested in working around my timetable and were going to charge me extra at every step of move.
2. The individual I had talked to before the move was quick and responsive, but made a complete turn around once the move was completed, as they had already charged my credit card.
3. They charged me $600 extra. I packed my own stuff but they still charged me saying that the weight was erroneously calculated by their agent, and I was responsible for their mistake.
HUMBLE REQUEST - PLEASE AVOID NORTH AMERICAN VAN LINES - UNIVERSITY MOVING, OUT OF DETROIT, MI AT ALL COSTS.
