It's too bad that Nicole is not the whole company...because she is great--thorough and prompt. However, when Orion contracted out to Schneider Van Lines, that's where the trouble began. Schneider was difficult to contact, rude to deal with, unreliable, and then sent a driver on his first run to make my delivery with only one helper. The driver found two guys of questionable integrity on Craigslist and first started their delivery at 10pm. And finished at 5am. Even left an expensive dolly/handtruck and a dozen moving blankets here. That's where the real fun began. We found ourselves missing two boxes...interestingly one of fine liquors and the other of my son's camcorder. Hard to believe coincidence when it's tonly hese two boxes out of some 180. Kevin, of Orion Van Lines, will ultimately be done in by his own anger and arrogance. He plays as though he understand your plight/anger/frustration but then he verbally explodes when you do not receive satisfaction on your claims. I submitted my claim [complete with notarized forms and photos] to them and their insurance company within 30 days. Insurance handled their end promptly and according to the letter of the law.. Here's my final email to them...kind of sums it all up..."Well played gentlemen. Let’s see…you first received the CARGO and DAMAGES insurance claims in mid-July. Although the cargo portion was poorly but promptly paid, you jerked me around until the end of August. When I pushed back in my ‘negotiations’ with Kevin, he decided he’d no longer work with me when I argued that we were entitled to more than the offered $325, and then upped to $375 dollars [when Kevin stated that he’d even kick in $50 of his own to end this]. Hmmm. And yet, anger and arrogance got the best of Kevin once again and he cut short our conversation. So I did exactly what I should have done all along….I re-contacted Michelle @ Vanliner Insurance. It took all of 10 days to get the claim processed, issue resolved, and check cut. And I received a better payment of $450 in today’s mail. Ten days…so hard to believe. And my son gets his camcorder and case and knife and sheath all replaced. All I ever asked for. And even better, I did not have to sign off on anything. Which leaves me completely free to let the world know just how Orion and Schneider handled my June move. Right up to the September resolution of all they mishandled. No worries, I will share just the facts and only the facts. No editorializing is even necessary. Nicole, you were professional and thorough from our very first conversation. Unfortunately you cannot handle everything and deserve a more professional place of employment. Kevin, I predict that it will be your arrogance and anger that ultimately does your business in…stop pretending that you’re working for your customers and have their best interests in mind. You don’t. Ivan, I cannot even begin to comment on your business…from the drivers you hire, to making deliveries in the middle of the night, to leaving items behind, to hiring helpers found on Craigslist to offload. If Orion is at all wise, they will NEVER EVER contract out a move to you. IVAN, I have also let you know for more than 10 weeks that I have moving blankets and a hand truck here. I have requested that arrangements be made for their pickup. This continues to be ignored. If nothing is arranged by the end of September, I will be disposing of these items. Wonder what these could fetch on Craigslist? Yea, I know, it’s your busiest time of year. Well, maybe not for much longer." Nuf said. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHANCES.
