Olympia Moving and Storage 4901 Main st Skokie, IL 60077 847-679-4338 While poor the customer service is unacceptable, the wholesale fraud committed by them is simply criminal. Please see specific issues below: 1. A small move of only 3 items, and one of them ends up broken. A simple request to look in the truck and return the part was made, and a rude and impersonall response was given. 5 minutes and courtesy is all that's required, but they lack even that. 2. Expect to pay >70% over the estimate. Mileage was miscalculated as they added 400 miles for the trip of the items to their central chicago facility (not listed in the contract that you would pay for your items to go sight-seeing). 3. Movers arrived 4 days late to pick up items. 4. Given less than 24 hrs notice for receipt of items (then threatened that they're on their way, and if I don't take them they'll charge for the storage). 5. No modified invoice sent before delivery despite multiple requests. 6. Items delivered after 9:30PM on a weekday! 7. Charged $280 for packing (supposed to be free, but consisted of a few boxes wrapped around items). More importantly, the 60" TV screen had only a single non-sturdy layer covering it. Fraud: 1. This is the primary issue as the weight was off by greater than 800 lbs (>33% of the original weight). Items were weighed during original move in a small U haul truck 8 months ago, and were much less than this. Cause of weight undetermined. each item was reweighed by me on a scale after arrival, and the 800 lb discrepancy persists! Additionally, movers were given free items (piles of old clothing, a 200lb oak table) if they wanted to take them home/sell them/etc. They kept the items given them , but included the weight in the total for the delivery cost to me. I'm not sure why I'm paying to move nice free items given to them.
