a stress-free move

I scheduled a move on Monday to move my two bedroom townhouse and my friend's one bedroom apt in the same day to the same destination. I chose Ori van lines based on the good reviews , good pricing, and the fact that they didn't do the nickel-and-diming of charging for tape/paper/boxes/etc (which I found annoying). I was quoted $90/hr for a 3-person team, plus a $30 fuel surcharge for the long distance (it would have been only $70/hr for a 2-person team, but I definitely needed a team of 3 for this job). This was a very reasonable rate Indeed, there were no extras for pkg, tape, etc., so there were no surprises in the quote at the end. The whole thing took exactly 7 hours (excluding 30 mins for lunch, which they said I could deduct from the bill), and they were careful and efficient. My friend and I also did most of our packing beforehand, which saved time. I made sure to tell the lead guy in the beginning that if they did a good job, ended in a reasonable amount of time, and DIDN'T break anything or damage any walls/etc., there would be a good tip for them at the end. I'm pleased with the move and would hire them again. They were very polite. When I talked with them on the phone to set up the appt they were very polite The only surprise was that the tip I thought was pretty decent turned out not to be enough. He was very polite about it at the end, but indicated that the tip should be more. So I slowly kept adding a little more money and a little more money until it seemed to be ok I was a little worried the morning of, since I was told that I would get a confirmation call the day before the move. I didn't get one. So I was relieved and happy that, on the morning of the move, they showed up - not only on time, but 15 mins early. They had no problem finding my little townhouse in the cul-de-sac maze of my complex. Most people get lost. I would say it was worth it for having a pretty easy-going, stress-free move.
