I can't believe I almost didn't hire movers!

I first have to say that I was very wary about hiring movers. I felt that moving companies were shady, that the guys doing the movers would be slackers and would probably break all my stuff. Fortunately none of my fears were true about ORI VAN LINES.
First of all I wanted a binding estimate because I did not like the idea of surprises or movers taking longer because they were getting paid by the hour. This was difficult because most moving companies wouldn't come do in home estimates. ORI VAN LINES called me back to schedule an in-home estimate no problem... (After that the other moving companies suddenly became interested in doing in-home estimates too- I guess they just needed a little nudge of competition).
The ORI estimate went well. My salesman took time with me to talk about the service and what to expect from the movers. He stressed that whatever he estimated was what I would be charged, no more/no less. They even offered a lower rate for moving on a less busy day. I never felt pressured, he didn't call me three times a day after meeting me (unlike what I've heard people experience with other moving companies).
On moving day our four man crew was roughly on time (maybe ten minutes late but I was running behind with last minute tasks anyway so it worked out) and man were they fast. I almost didn't know what to do with myself watching these men go to work. I did the packing so all they had to do was the actual moving, but they also packed up our electronics, wrapped the furniture and put our hanging clothes into wardrobe boxes. All in all it took about four hours, and (to my amazement) not a thing was broken. They handled all of our items well and unpacked any of the items they packed for us (meaning they put the bed back together for us and laid out our rugs that they rolled up, unpacked the TVs and air conditioners).
It was a pleasant experience, and really stress-free.
