Our experience with Pacific Ocean Moving and Storage was a true nightmare and we warn you against using them for a cross country move. Not only did they (our sales person was Richard) not deliver on their promise to have our things arrive in two weeks (it took 3 1/2 weeks when Richard assured us that there would be no reason that they couldn't make the 2 week deadline) but they were dishonest in every conversation we had with them, repeatedly promising different deadlines they didn't meet.
When we expressed our dissatisfaction and explained the huge inconvenience and cost to us (we had family visiting and had to go out and buy furniture before their arrival because our furniture did not arrive when Pacific guaranteed they would) they were unwilling to compensate us in any way for the expense we incurred or the stress they put us through. After multiple heated conversations with Ory (who was rude and disrespectful to us) they agreed to a measly 5% discount (which did not in any way come close to covering the expenses we incurred).
When our things finally arrived, we were out of town. Again, they had first promised they would deliver before our family arrived, and after missing that deadline, they promised they would deliver before we went out of town. We had to have a friend come to our home to receive the delivery. Once again they arrived late- 2 hours after they promised to be here. When we returned from our trip, we came home to a mess. Our hardwood floors are permanently stained because they had placed some of the boxes upside down, and cleaning liquid leaked out of one of the boxes and permanently damaged our wood floors. We are now looking at a $1600 hardwood floor repair. Additionally, several wood boards that belong to our entertainment center were missing and we now have to pay to replace them. Finally, several of the boxes arrived in poor condition and several of our fragile items arrived broken (despite the fact that we packaged them carefully with bubble wrap and clearly marked them "fragile").
Overall we were extremely dissastisfied with Pacific Ocean Moving & Storage due to dishonesty, poor & disrespectful communication, careless handling of our property, lack of delivery against commitments every step of the way, and unwillingness to appropriately compensate for unsatisfactory service.
