First, I explained to this company that I needed to be moved out by Saturday, June 11th because I was flying out of the state (South Carolina) by Sunday, June 12th. This was a prerequisite to choosing a moving company and Nick Rucci ASSURED ME that they would arrive no later than Wednesday, June 8th. He never confirmed with me so I had to call him to confirm all the way up until Wednesday. This SHOULD have been my first alarm bell but I was super busy that week prior to the move (fast forward, they ultimately never showed up) and I felt that I didn't have enough time to find another company. In fact, the 1st real alarm bell was how RUDE he was to me when I called with simple questions, as if I were greatly inconveniencing him or even harassing him. When I called him on Wednesday to see what was going on, he got upset with me and said they had a truck break down and he had to re-route a truck and they'd be there by Friday or Saturday at the very latest. I told him that I understood that these things happen and asked if he would keep me in the loop of what was happening. Here is where it starts to get really sketchy: Nick Rucci said he would call later that day to confirm which day they would be coming. He never did. So on Thursday I called to find out whether it would be Friday or Saturday. He got upset with me and told me that he intended to call me the following day (Friday) to tell me the movers would be there Saturday morning. He refused to tell me why he knew it was Saturday morning but wouldn't call me to tell until Friday. I asked if he would call the next day (Friday) to confirm the Saturday delivery and he promised he would. On Friday he did not call me so at the end of the day I called to confirm. This was now getting down the wire. He got upset again and ASSURED me they would be there on Saturday morning. Geez, why was I asking so many questions or bothering Nick Rucci with questions of small things like confirmations or times??? This is deplorable: On Saturday afternoon, after they did not show up, I called to see what was up. Nick Rucci said he was really surprised that they weren't there yet because he talked to the drivers that morning and they were "really close" and that he would call the truck drivers again and call me back. After an hour, my boyfriend called to get to the bottom of this. He asked Nick if he called the drivers yet and then Nick hung up on him immediately. So my boyfriend called back and a different guy picked up Nick's extension. My boyfriend explained what had transpired and the random guy said management would call him back. They didn't so he called back and asked to talk to management immediately. Management (Theresa Jones) told him that Nick was not even A PART OF THE DISPATCH DEPARTMENT and also that THERE WASN'T EVEN A TRUCK IN THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA! She told him that Nick was not even authorized to say where trucks were or when they would be arriving. My boyfriend mentioned that this must be really upsetting to management to know that they have an employee that did this. How could this Nick Rucci character assure me all the way til "they will be there any MINUTE" and there wasn't even a truck dispatched to my state?? Nope, management only apologized as if they had heard this all before and said that they would handle the matter internally. THEN they had the gall to ask me if I was still interested in using them so they could dispatch a truck to my house! They said they would refund my deposit to my card but I hardly believe that would happen. I think they may be scam artists. I am contacting the authorities in New York to let them know that a company in their state may be defrauding the public. Now I have to find new movers and ask a friend if she can facilitate the move in my absence (as I will be out of state) or I have to fly down in 2 months time (when I'm finally free) and rent a U-Haul to move to my new place. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!
