I contacted numerous self move companies about our move from Groton, CT to San Antonio, TX
I must admit - never would I have expected the tons of phone calls and emails from companies I never heard of or asked a quote from. But one stood out from the rest - SelfMoves USA.
I received their quote and set it aside as it was very reasonable. They did not continiously call me or harrass me on the phone. I got one follow up email asking if I had any questions, etc...
I called them and spoke with Valerie. I explained about all the other companies and the constant hounding - which she understood as she had heard the horror stories also.
We went over everything I had and she confirmed the price and space I would probably need. After we finished loading the trailer, needless to say (and very surprising) we were within 6 inches of what they estimated.
The shipment left and I packed my babies (I have twins) and husband in the car and we made it their to meet the truck in 4 doors. Unfortunately, the house was not ready and we were forced to wait a few extra days. This was not a problem and Valerie scheduled the delivery to our timeframe - without any additional charges.
I was nervous about how my stuff faired throughout the trip and I was pleasantly surprised to see just 2 drinking glasses broken and nothing else.
I would highly recommend SelfMoves to anybody wanting to save money while hiring a dependable company. I plan to use them again when my husband is transfered again in 2 years.
