When you reach our age, you don't ask friends to help you move. We didn't even discuss if we should hire movers - the question was which one. We called White Glove first (from prior experience) but they were booked into June. Of the others we called Starcity got the job. I chose Starcity because:
- They were friendly and helpful over the phone
- They gave us areasonable flat rate
- They throw in extras like free wardrobe and TV boxes
The crew of three showed up at the front end of the 1 hour arrival window. They called the day before to confirm again, they called 20 minutes prior to arriving to let us know, and the owner texted me twice during the day to check in and make sure all was going well. These guys worked their butts off moving our stuff. We went from a 2 story home to a fourth floor condo with no elevator. They were hauling large pieces of furniture up those stairs all afternoon, carrying items on their backs, and hardly breaking a sweat.
