Lied about price

I'm not sure why this company got so many good reviews. I picked them because they had wonderful reviews online and gave me a reasonable "binding" quote. It wasn't until after I paid the deposit that they informed me of all the extra charges (stairs, moving materials, etc.). But that's not why they got such a poor review, I can live with that, those charges seem to be common with moving companies. They get such a poor review because the final charges were more than double the initial charges ("binding" quote: $1,280; end charges: $2,750). First of all, make sure you have cash. No one informed me that the transactions were cash only and because I couldn't get enough money from the ATM in time, I had to pay with my credit card and they charged me 5% extra (I think because businesses have to pay extra when people use their credit cards, so that made sense to me, although it kind of sucked). Those two things were a little frustrating, but tolerable. The real problem occurred when the day before my things were supposed to arrive, the mover (not Straight Forward Moving, someone they hired from another company) told me that Straight Forward Moving was charging me $1,400 more than originally agreed upon. That is simply unacceptable to me. I had already spent almost all of my savings on the first part of the move. I was told that the only extra charges I would have to pay when my stuff arrived at my new apartment would be stair charges and whatever extra charges they could come up with when they moved my stuff in. Oh, and just a heads up, they charge for the distance they have to carry belongings, and they are arriving in an 18-wheeler tomorrow, which makes it hard to fit in some places, which means they're more likely to charge you extra for distance. I have been trying to contact them to get more details, but their customer service is seriously lacking. The woman I dealt with before the move who was very easy to work with before I paid the deposit simply stopped responding to my emails immediately after (I was asking about an arrival date). Then when I called I talked to about four different people before I finally got someone who could apparently help, and she said she would call be back in a few minutes. It has been a several hours and I still have not received a phone call, and of course she didn't give me a follow up phone number. I feel as though they intentionally misled me to get more money (because of course in order to have them move it I had to sign papers saying I'd pay the full amount, and they withheld just how much that would really be). I should not have to find out the "real" price the day before my things arrive. And now I have no choice but to come up with another $1,400. I will never, under any circumstances, use this company again.
