My husband and I needed to ship an entire bed (mattress and all) and a chair to our new home. This company seemed to have the best prices; furthermore, when we called to get a quote, the customer service was excellent. We went through with the transaction, boxing everything ourselves and having the items professionally weighed on large scales to be sure that each item's weight was accurate. Well. THe items were delivered on time, the delivery guy (who did not know any specifics about our transaction but specifically told us that no one from TSI nor any delivery man had weighed the items) was very nice, etc. When we went inside to unpack the items, both the headboard and footboard to our bed were SPLIT. And I mean, someone really had to throw these boxes around to have the wood split all the way down the pieces like that. Not to mention the alignment of the bed had completely shifted due to the impact. As if this wasn't bad enough that we had just paid about $500 to ship a bed that was now broken, 5 minutes after the delivery guy pulled away we conveniently received a call from TSI telling us that our items were a whole, even 100 lbs. more than we reported that they were and do we want this extra $160 or so charged on the same credit card? This company is a scam. Yes, they delivered our furniture from one state to another ( in extremely damaged condition) but then they make every attempt to suck more money out of you on top of what you already paid. When they called us 5 minutes after our items were dropped off (nice timing, TSI), that friendly customer service that they had put forth before we gave them our money disappeared. Luckily, the company where we had our items measured gladly wrote a letter indicating the weights of every item they measured and sent it directly to TSI as proof that their claim was a lie. When we initially spoke to a rep. at TSI, they mentioned that insurance of 10 cents per pound was included in the transaction. We did not end up buying more insurance, which is a mistake of ours, so I guess they saw us coming. At this point, because we are so disgusted with the greed of this company, we don't even want to talk to them again to even inquire about any the $28 or so we may get back- obviously, it isn't worth it. We will tell anyone who ever has to ship an item to pay a little more and go with a company that has great reviews online. I always do my research online and due to time constraints I didn't this time around, otherwise (based on the reviews I have read now with similar stories) I would have avoided this company. I check my credit card everyday to make sure they have not slipped in an extra charge for this "100 lbs. more" because I will be sure to immediately file a claim with my credit card company for an unauthorized/fabricated charge. STAY AWAY! There are better companies out there worth the extra price.
