Total scam-NEVER use these people

Having never used a moving company before, and having to rush, I had no idea moving companies had scam artists. Now I know! United States Van Lines gave me an estimate after I listed every item over the phone. I informed the sales rep that I had two pick up locations in two states and was assured this would be no problem. An American Van Lines truck showed up and we loaded the first batch of items. The driver asked, "Where's the rest of the items?" I said they were in the second location in SC. The driver was totally surprised and had no clue there was a second pick up location. The delivery date was set two weeks after pick up. I arrived in NM, found a home and waited for my delivery with an air mattress, one blanket, a few clothes, one few kitchen essentials and a light jacket. the two weeks went by and American called to say the delivery would be two days late. This was the week before Thanksgiving. After two days, I called United Van Lines back (since this was the original company I spoke with) and they didn't have any idea where the truck was or when it would arrive. I was told with each of the 4 phone calls that someone would call me back, but never did. I had to ask for a manger to finally get an answer. Come to find out, the two people who picked up my items decided to quit, leaving the trailer at a hub station. My items did not arrive until two weeks later, leaving me with nothing to fix Thanksgiving diner with, or to eat diner on. My furniture was beat all to crap to the tune of about $900. When I put in the claim, along with pictures of the damage, two months later I was sent a letter saying my damages weren't listed by the delivery driver and therefore would not be compensated. As for the two week delay, it was compensated at only $250. My total bill was almost twice the original quote.
