Run, flee, avoid, and by all means do NOT use this company. Carry your stuff across the country in a handcart if it's your only option besides using U.S. Van Lines. I needed to move in an unexpected rush in order to start a new job that began very soon. I selected U.S. Van Lines even though they were several hundred dollars more expensive than other quotes I received because the salesperson assured me that they could make both the pick-up and drop-off dates that I needed. However, once U.S. Van Lines had my credit card, I never spoke with the same person again even though she was supposed to be my point person. At no point in my dealings with USVL did the company disclose that it was only a broker and had no dealings with the actual movers who would be moving my items. The company did not confirm my pickup date as I was told they would. When I called to confirm three days or so in advance of my "scheduled" pickup, the person told me the carrier had not even been selected yet. Unsurprisingly, the movers showed a day late - which meant I had already left because my travel plans were non-negotiable. I had to have family store all of my items for a day. The drop-off was also several hours late and the movers forgot their tools to reassemble furniture. The drivers tried to say that furniture that was nearly falling apart because the bolts had just been placed in but not tightened were "good enough." The carriers also demanded cash or a cashier's check for payment upon delivery, which was not disclosed by USVL. Since I didn't have the $700 in cash at 7:00 on a Sunday night, I had to pay by credit card and was charged an additional $40 as a credit card charge and had to give them a copy of my driver's license for some indiscernible reason. USVL customer service was GOD-AWFUL. It was nearly impossible to get a manager on the phone, they only offered a $50 refund for their late pickup and delivery, and at multiple times I was flat out lied to about the services they offered. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
