I had a very similar bad experience with this company. Please dont use them. I recently moved from LA to melbourne Australia. Unity Van Lines was paid for a door to door service. They did not pay Transglobal shipping the full amount. I have to fork out an additional 1000 dolloars for port destination handling charges. My goods were worth 2000 USD. They claimed that this was customs duties and taxes which the local authorities and Transglobal Shipping say it was not. They give u the run around for weeks. The bill was presented when the container arrived 4 months later. This gives you little time to investigate the matter without incurring storage expenses. Transglobal shipping in Australia essentially hold the goods hostage until I pay the full amount. They obviously give you a good upfront deal in order to attract you into using theml. They have a professional approach so be wary. The shipping agent suggested that Unity Van Lines is fast gaining a bad reputation. in the shipping world.
