Don't trust the good reviews for this company and they wrote themselves and that's why I became a victim of their scams. I had a in-house estimate for $750 and on the moving day, I was charge for $2600 with all my stuffs loaded in their truck!!! What's gonna happen if I refused to pay? They will leave with all my stuffs in the truck. I used Victory Van Lines to move my furniture from my townhouse to a storage 2 miles away. The company sent a person to our place to do the quote and I told him that all the furniture need to be wrapped and packed. He didn't mention anything about the WRAPPING/Material COST and gave us an estimate of $750 including $660 labor and $90 commute on March 11. However, on March 27 the movers went through all the items that needed to be moved and made us sign a document stating packaging materials without disclosing how much estimated materials would cost to pack everything. They would not being work without it and we didn't think it would be much considering the estimate was only 750. After all my furniture was loaded on to the truck, the guy in charge of moving showed me the bill: $1,800 MATERIAL plus $750 labor + commute. They were going to buy back $500 worth of blankets on the subsequent move but They charge $20 average for a paper box and used more than 50 of boxes for my furniture alone. I was shocked by the total amount, but at that moment, all my furniture were already in their truck and I'd be without my furniture if i didn't pay. I don't have any choice, but to pay for whatever they were charging for. At no time during the 7 hour move did any of the movers keep us updated on the cost. After moving, I called the company to complaint about the inaccurate estimate and un-disclosure cost, the person who did estimate for us finally called me back late afternoon and told me he had no idea what I need to pack so he didn't tell me the material cost. I requested the same quote with other moving companies after all these happened: for 4 person, packing materials and commute, the price ranges from $600 to $900. I chose Victory Line Vans because their online review is good and their quote was reasonable. I never expected the materials cost to be more than the labor to move. A discrepancy of this much should have been in the estimate. I feel that Victory Van Lines intentionally chose not to disclose that information and forced us into a corner by holding our furniture hostage. Do not use this dishonest company!!!
