I am a pretty frequent and jaded mover. I have had awful experiences every time I have had to use a moving company. So when my Sister in Law asked me to help her find a mover, I was
not excited about it. After digging through internet crap and getting suspicious quotes from shady companies, I found this site and Casper at White Glove. Not only did he answer his phone, he returned calls promptly and his quote was not only fair, but he guaranteed that there would be no 'surprise' cash due at the end of the process. The only two issues that came up, had nothing to do with White Glove, but Big Canoe who I guess does the driving for the company.
First, The pick up was EARLY ..which I couldn't believe! That was great, but they came on a Sunday and I didn't have a cashiers check ready for them, so I had to use my debit card which wasn't a big deal. I had decided to split the total payment into two amounts for obvious reasons (I wanted to make sure we got our stuff before I gave them the full amount). Well, it took forever for the debit to come out of my account from the pick up. I thought if they couldn't take it all out now, then I'll take it out and give them the full amount in a cashiers check at the end. I'm sure they have been messed over as well from people asking you to move their stuff and having no money at the end because when I called Casper and he got the transport guy who did the debit right there..no problem.
Second, At delivery, the driver said there was an extra $250 due before he could unload our stuff. Now I expected that, because it seems that comes up everytime you use a moving company. There is always an attempt to hold your furniture hostage for some extra cash that must go into the drivers pocket. However, this time was different, I had a guarantee from Casper and I actually believed him! I was able to tell the driver what Casper told me about the guarantee and that there was going to be no extra money given to him. And guess what? He still delivered the furniture inside! Not sure I would have felt that I had a leg to stand on without Caspers guarantee and the fact I believed him when he told me there was no extra money due at the end.
So the move actually was a pleasant experience..the first time ever! I'll be moving from ATL to CA by the end of the year and you better believe I'll be calling White Glove and asking for Casper..I suggest that you do too!!!
