Anxiety-filled cross country move

I have used many movers throughout the years but this experience was so stressful and unsatisfying that I will never use them again.
The initial setup for my cross-country move was friendly and cooperative- I set the pickup for a weekend a month in advance as an acquaintance would be in attendance at the receiving end and her time was limited. As the day drew near I could not get a confirmation from this company- it is the only moving company that I have used that can only confirm dates 2-3 days in advance, causing great anxiety.
The truck broke down in the middle of the country and delayed my move by a week- in the meantime I incurred expenses and it took a great deal of negotiating to get them to contribute a small amount to those expenses.
When the truck finally arrived it was filled to capacity with several moves- I have never seen furniture packed to the roof of a truck so solidly before and as a consequence several of my items were damaged. I only had the minimal coverage so was not expecting much but Annie kept denying one of the items and after frequent unsuccessful attempts over several months to try and get a satisfactory explanation I finally gave up.
This move proved to be a most stressful and nasty experience and I cannot recommend them- I have used several movers in the past and I have never had a similar experience. “You get what you pay for”.
